Bars and restaurants were shut down. Gym-going became an unhealthy habit. Planes were grounded. But as the summer heat began to rise, so did RV sales and stocks. People took to the great outdoors as a last-ditch effort to stay social with friends and family. Recreational vehicle purchases were at an all-time high this year, and while parks and campgrounds will reap the benefits of families escaping the not-so-great indoors, neighborhoods will eventually become storage central once the travel season ends—which many U.S. neighborhoods restrict.

RV storage is pegged to hit a new high demand with the increased use/sales in the past year. This leaves developers with great incentives to provide RV and boat storage because now there will be a shortage of available self-storage building businesses. Some neighborhoods allow for RV and boat storage on a person’s property, but not everyone has space or desire to keep monstrosities parked in front of their homes for months at a time, or cities simply won’t allow it.
