PROJECT: Molasses Restaurant

LOCATION: Midland, MI
Designhaus provided interior and exterior design work for the Molasses Restaurant in Midland. Design inspiration was smokehouse-style featuring brick, polished wood bar, and table surfaces, as well as the exposed ceiling.
The history of the food molasses is intertwined with the history of the south. Made into rum, barbecue sauce, and used as a sweetener in many, many southern dishes—molasses has left its dark mark on southern cuisine.
At Molasses, we’re part of the new school of southern barbecue. Since man discovered fire, barbecue has been part of every culture in the world.
