Son of a Residential Builder, Sal began his career interest at a young age when he combined his love of drawing & construction. “All it took was one class to realize I loved Architecture.” The assignment was to create a floor plan relative to his interests & hobbies and turned that into a large home with a variety of different programs. “The floor plan was absurd but, at the time reflected a young boy’s idea.” At that point Sal developed a curiosity to learn more.
“Someone once told me that a 3-year-old with a crayon can draw a house & call it Architecture.” As he progressed with his career, Sal realized that Architecture isn’t just a drawing on a piece of paper, it’s about knowing, knowing why & how. “Architecture allows us to have the power of knowledge. The knowledge of how & why structures & streetscapes are formed, and how they effect change. How users will interact with a building or program, and how those structures will interact with its user.” Sal said. “It’s not about Succeeding; it’s about being a value in a community.”
Sal has taken that frame of mind & turned it into a Project Management role, receiving a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy, a Residential Builders license & National achievements in Architectural competitions. “Above all I believe the biggest achievement I have made in my career is going from managing a local pizzeria for most of my life to now being named their preferred Architect to grow their franchise. To me, that is what it is all about.”
Beyond his professional life, Sal enjoys spending time with his Wife and Sons, and enjoys playing & watching a variety of different sports. Sal also enjoys vacationing at his family’s cottage where he participates in a range of outdoor activities.
